Where am I now? No, not in Paris.
Not in Paris, but in the English Midlands. This image is from China. Yes, it’s true. Shenzhen, China, is home to the Windows of the World theme park ( 世界之窗 or shi jie zhi chaung). The park features a 108 meter (354 ft) tall Eiffel Tower, as well as replicas of Niagara Falls and Angkor Wat. Strange, uber-tacky, but alluring and fun in a campy sort of way.
Driving down Shennan Boulevard and seeing the Eiffel Tower dominate the skyline makes one pause and ponder their location. More so if hungover.
Did the photo fool ya? What did the Great Dubya once say about being fooled?

There’s an old saying in Tennessee — I know it’s in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can’t get fooled again.
Comedy writers are hard-pressed to create something so funny. Sorry, I digressed.

Oh god! What a fool he is.
I didn’t know there was a Windows Of the World theme park in China. Pretty neat! I may have to go to China to see the Eiffel Tower since I’ll probably never make it to Europe.

You had me there! – I do luv Paris despite the bad press it gets for unfriendlyness
I’m not going to miss the Shrub. The other day he said something to the press about misunderestimating him and I’m still trying to figure out how that works. It boggles the mind.
Please say hello to England for me. It’s been a few years since my last visit. I hope you’re having a grand old time. 🙂

Quickroute – I love Paris too but I would add “justified” prior to bad press…

I’m a sucker for hokey tourist traps. If you’re ever in Arizona, look me up and I’ll take you to Tombstone.
