You see a lot of scooters in China. They are cheap, compared to automobiles. And you would be amazed how much stuff or how many people will fit on one small conveyance. I’ve seen a family of four riding happily on more than once, a smaller electric version of the venerable station wagon, sans wood paneling.
No scooter for me. The roads are scary enough without me adding to the mayhem

Cute. 🙂
Things are so regulated here that an adult carrying a child on a scooter that way would probably be arrested for child abuse along with being ticketed for numerous traffic, helmet, seat belt, and child-safety seat violations. It sometimes makes me wonder how people my age and older survived childhood without all those regulations. Heh.

I remember being a bit surprised to see scooters in Shenzhen, as they aren’t allowed in some northern cities. Personally, I HATE them. There’s nothing worse than sitting in a pack of 100 scooter drivers sucking back on exhaust fumes. And, for some weird reason, everyone smokes and drives, which means you’re inhaling exhaust fumes and second-hand smoke. It’s horrid. I don’t drive a scooter and I wish the government would ban them in Taiwan. It’s never going to happen, but one can always wish, right?

She has a look of purpose on her face. I sometime wish I had a scooter here and now. Neat shot.

Great shot.
Some of my work colleagues who are expats in Saigon decided that, when in Rome, live like the Romans. Well, the family all got scooters, and within six months the wife got into a pretty bad accident. Fortunately, she wasn’t critically hurt, although she was seriously hurt and recovered. Decided to give up on the notion of riding a scooter.
