Danger: Wet weather ahead

It will be wet this week. I thought we had escaped the spring rains; That they had decided not to pay us a visit this year.

I was wrong, as I often am.

Umbrellas won’t protect you from the onslaught. Your clothes get wet from walking to and from work. Wet shoes and socks are a fact of life. Daily wardrobe decisions are made based on what is least wet. Washed clothes never quite dry.

It matches my current state of mind perfectly. Pathetic fallacy is sometimes more than a literary device.

Wish me luck. If nothing else, I will be clean.

Well Stevo, if you were in L.A. I could recommend a very good Chinese laundry or dry cleaner which sounds more apropos given your current condition… 😉

    Nice hangers…

I’m in the same boat Stevo! I thought spring was over and we were already in to summer. Not so. It keeps getting chilly, which I do not appreciate in the least. My immune system and sinuses are not appreciating the constant up and downs of the temperature. At least it’s not so humid that my clothes will actually dry….

  3. Yeah, I feel you. It has actually been pretty dry here for a couple of days now, I cleaned the floor and it was dry in 2 hours!

Wet n’ humid in honkers too 🙁

  5. Stevo says:

Ron: I wish there were laundromats in China. Dry cleaning is the same price here as it would be in LA. Arrggggg.

Graham: Wait a month or two, Graham. Humidity sucks.

EG: My cleaning lady, bless her, dries the floor on her hands and knees before she leaves.

QR: Yes, we are neighbors. How’s the weather compare to BA or Ireland?

  6. We actually need the rain over here – it was a very, very dry winter. Can you send some of your extra raindrops over?

I read this as the weather man tells of tomorrow’s weather being the wettest we’ve seen in a long time, perhaps all season. I’m pretty sure I don’t have to go out tomorrow so that’ll be good. I just have to make sure I have everything that I will need before it begins.

I would say “stay dry” but I guess that’s an impossibility so perhaps it would be more appropriate to say “try to stay as comfortable as you can with the wetness”.

Corina: Thanks. I will try to stay comfortable.

    Great hangers. 🙂

I think I’d rather have snow than rain. Maybe.

    Wishing you luck.

Robin: No snow, please. I hate shoveling.

Shawn: Yes, but have you ever worn damp jeans? Nasty.

Oh! Ick! They stick to you and weigh a ton. Maybe you should invest in some light cotton slacks, They’d still be damp, but weigh less.
