That’s right. You’re a cheap bastard. I read of your donation to the Chinese earthquake relief fund. Andy: 100,000 RMB? You have more than that in loose change. If you searched your sofa you’d find more money than that.
Come on, cheapie. Jackie Chan gave 10 million RMB. Jet Li parted with 1 million RMB and Yao Ming donated 500,000 RMB. The students and staff of my school donated more than 400,000 RMB. Let’s not talk about the $10 million RMB anonymous donation made yesterday.

Several years ago (ok, like 25) the Rolling Stones played in SF and someone approached the Jagger entourage and hit him up for money.
The cause was nothing like what Szechuan has been through, admittedly. He handed them $100, and the coverage in the paper was on what a tightwad Jagger is.
Has there been much fallout on this? Are people burning their Andy memorabilia like Beatle albums once burned? Has Andy seen the light of day and upped his contribution?

Has anyone bothered to check that Andy has been involved in communities works since 1990 and has since contributed up to 100 million yuan. Why has judgement being made and passed on? The same applies for Yao Ming. He has privately made a donation of 2 million yuan as well on top of the 500,000. Why don’t you write a letter to Sharon Stone instead who refused to contribute a single cent and claimed that it’s karma for the Chinese???

Jarod: Thank you for your thoughts. I am well aware of Mr. Lau’s charitable contributions. In this situation he could have stepped up and been an example. He didn’t. Sharon Stone is a nut job who doesn’t merit a response.
