The lights in the hall outside my apartment are triggered by motion-sensors and kept illuminated by timers. They never work when needed most. Fumbling with my keys in a state of altered consciousness has led me on more than one occasion to attempt the opening an apartment other than my own. During the day this is what you see when the lights go out.

note: The toddler that runs up and down the hall must have been having a nap when this was shot.
